The Inishowen Steam Laundry, Bridge StreetThe laundry is thought to have been built by John Doherty (Arthur). He and his wife Josie Doherty (Jack) came back from America, and probably brought the idea of public wash houses with them.
Harkins bought the laundry from John some time around the 1950s - the photo predates that. It is still a laundry and dry-cleaners on Bridge Street.
